The Third Street South Farmers Market is the classic. First established in 1994, it now draws around 60 local growers and independent vendors, with no national chains, and it runs every Saturday morning from 7:30 to 11:30am, year-round. Expect fresh produce, seafood, flowers and live plants, pastas, baked goods, prepared foods, jams, and fresh-roasted coffee, plus live music and dog treats. One quirk to know: from mid-November through April it sets up directly on Third Street South between Broad Avenue South and 13th Avenue South, but the rest of the year, including right now, it relocates a block away to the Neapolitan parking lot behind Tommy Bahama. Up in North Naples, the Vanderbilt Farmers Market at the Shoppes at Vanderbilt, near the corner of Airport-Pulling and Vanderbilt Beach Road, is the biggest in the area, with roughly 90 or more vendors. It runs Saturday mornings year-round, generally 8am to 1pm and a little shorter in the peak summer heat, and it is pet and family friendly. Between produce, micro-greens, fresh seafood, honey, European breads, and a wide mix of makers selling art, candles, and home goods, it is the market to hit if you want the widest selection under one roof.
Naples is a snowbird town, so several markets only run during the winter season, roughly mid-November through April, when the population and vendor count swell. The Marco Island Farmers Market sets up every Wednesday at Veterans Community Park with well over a hundred vendors, a short drive south of Naples. Others rotate through the season across Collier County, including a Sunday market on the Florida SouthWestern College campus in East Naples and the long-running Bonita Springs market just to the north.
